Air cargo demand and revenues improved in January, but it is too early to tell whether this foreshadows another strong year for air cargo. The latest figures from WorldACD show that worldwide cargo volumes increased by 8.5% year on year in January, compared with growth predictions for the year of around 4.5%.

BNSF to Spend $485 Million in Texas, Oklahoma on Maintenance Projects

BNSF Railway is spending $375 million in Texas and $110 million in Oklahoma as part of its $3.3 billion 2018 capital expenditure program that focuses on maintenance projects. In Texas, the railroad will conduct track surfacing and/or undercutting on about 1,400 miles of track and replace nearly 40 miles of rail and 450,000 ties.
